Help on Solving Linear Equations

In this lesson let me help you understand on what is linear Equation and how to solve linear Equation with the help of sample problem.

Problems on Linear Equation:
Example problem 1:
Solve the equation for the variable x: x + 14 = 34
Solution:
x + 14 = 34
Subtract 14 on both sides of the equation
x + 14 - 14 = 34 – 14
x = 20
So, the answer is x=20.
Following example will help you understand more on solving quadratic functions
Example problem 2:
Solve the equation for the variable y: 3 y + 39 = 9
Solution:
Subtract 39 on both sides of the equation
3 y + 39 - 39 = 9 - 39
3 y = -30
Divide by 3 on both sides of the equation

y = -10.
So, the answer is -10.
